Executive MBA in Tourism Management
Objectives of the Program
- Manage his company under conditions of permanent economic fluctuation;
- Communicate successfully with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Adapt tourism products to the new and evolving demands of the customers;
- Introduce significant new technologies and understand the challenges of these technologies;
- Manage tourism companies and areas on a level compatible with the current structures of the market;
- Understand and consider environmental, ethical and social issues.
Intended Participants
Participants are typically professionals who wish to combine work and academic study to further their careers and build on their skills. The programme is open to participants from all countries and backgrounds, provided they have a university degree (BA or BSc minimum), a good command of English, and/or several years of professional experience. Participation is limited to 25 students per cohort.
Methodology
The Executive MBA programme is designed as part-time training for the professional who wishes to combine work and study. The programme is composed of 7 modules adding up to 300 hours of teaching. Modules are presented in block-courses from 3 to 5 days each, mainly scheduled on Thursdays to Saturdays included. In-between modules, the student may work but is expected to do background reading and may receive assignments. The programme is concluded by a comprehensive examination and the successful writing and presentation of an individual Master's Thesis.
ECTS Credits
The programme is held over a period of 18 months and consists of a total of 1500 work hours, which counts for 60 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System). They are divided as follows:
